Hi! I'm Tony a Mandarin native speaker. I was born and raised in Beijing and now I live in New York City. I have extensive experience teaching young kids and professional working adults Chinese history, Culture and language and pleased to offer private Chinese tutoring.
I'm a graduate of NYU's Teacher of Chinese Foreign Language in Elementary School program and substitute Mandarin teacher at Dalton School’s International Language Department.
I look forward to helping you or your child learn Chinese in a fun, engaging, and memorable way.
Since 2016, I have been helping both children ranging from nine years old to adults who use Chinese professionally at work improve their Mandarin Chinese conversational and reading skills.
After a personal assessment, I create a tailored plan that helps each student achieve their Chinese language goals efficiently, effectively, and with a deeper cultural context.
I’m most familiar with the “Integrated Chinese” curriculum published by Cheng & Tsui Company but able to help each student find a curriculum that is best suited to their needs.
To find out more about how I could help you improve your Mandarin Chinese skills, I welcome you to
“Tony was trained in a top-notch Foreign Language Education program, and he has a tremendous amount of language instruction experience with students of a range of ages and abilities. Yet, Tony's success in connecting our daughter to Mandarin results from his manner and example: he is patient, clever, and kind, and he models a true passion for Chinese culture, global citizenship, and cross-cultural dialogue.
He has also connected the entire family to our daughter's Mandarin-language learning; involving all of us in immersive trips to New York's Chinese cultural sites, and keeping us abreast of his diverse instructional strategies and goals. We recommend Tony - as a tutor, teacher, and mentor - without hesitation." from Amy T.
